A note from Torrey J. Blackwell, regarding coronavirus 


March 13, 2020 

 On behalf of our Blackwell Automotive Inc. teammates, thank you for trusting us with your business over the last eight decades.


Like most of you, we have spent the last several days and weeks learning about the coronavirus (COVID-19), how it impacts our community, and how we can do our part to prevent the continued spread of the virus.  We are guided in this effort by one of my grandfather’s founding principles -- keep our guests and our team members safe. 


We are closely following the  Centers for Disease Control’s guidelines and recommendations.  We have previously implemented guidelines and policies for our team members on the necessity of washing hands regularly, staying home if they are sick and overall personal and dealership cleanliness.  We have limited travel and attendance at large group meetings and increased the availability of hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies.  We have also asked our team to temporarily refrain from shaking hands with guests or each other.  This last item is hard as it has been a standard of ours for years.  We believe this change is in the best interests of our team and our guests and hope you will understand. 


We have always taken great pride in the cleanliness of our dealership, and we know this is more important now than ever.  More time will be devoted to cleaning our stores than ever before, including special and frequent emphasis on areas commonly touched by team members and guests.  To date we have thankfully not had any team members infected. In the event we do, rest assured we will take appropriate action to quarantine the person, get appropriate care for any team members who had contact with them, and appropriately clean the department where that person worked.  We are communicating regularly with our team on these and other measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
